Pope Francis spoke via teleconference to several groups in the United States on Monday. His message will be broadcast on ABC this Friday, September 4.

The Office of the General Secretary of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops released a memo on Monday, August 31, 2015, including the following information:

I have the happy occasion to inform you that earlier this morning, Pope Francis made a surprise visit to the United States by way of video teleconference. The Holy Father spoke with students at Christo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago, immigrants along the border at a parish in McAllen, TX and a group of homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. His message is scheduled to be broadcast Friday evening at 10 PM EDT [9 PM Central] on ABC's "20/20" program.
