Do your commitments reflect your Catholic faith?
We all have commitments. Between family and work, we are stretched thin in time and resources. However, as Christian stewards, we are called to examine our commitments and prayerfully align them to the call of Jesus for our life. Watch the video above for tips on examining whether or not your financial commitment to the Church is an appropriate response to God's call in your life.
"God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7)
All followers of Jesus Christ are called to give thanks to God for our gifts and talents, and to pass on that generosity to others.
The lifestyle of Christian stewardship involves intentional, planned, and proportionate giving of our time, talent, and treasure. The following terms further explain this concept:
Giving our time involves being with God in prayer and worship, sharing our love with family and friends, and volunteering our time in parish and community activities that help others and build a better world.
Sharing our talents arises from the fact that God has given each one of us particular abilities and personal gifts. We glorify God when we develop our skills and use our abilities to build up the life of the Church and the society around us.
Sharing our treasure is as important as giving our time and talents. There are many ways to support the mission of the Church financially.
